Marriage Preparation Policy

Initial contact: at least one year in advance
Set Date: Date is not settled until Witness Affidavits are completed; 10 months before Wedding
Six to Twelve months before Wedding: classes for the Diocese: Parts I and 2
Minimum of 6 classes at parish: Initial meeting; take FOCCUS (relationship inventory), Review FOCCUS results with Father. Liturgy walk through
Five to Six months before wedding Recently issued Baptismal certificate (with notations) and Confirmation certificate (if not noted on Baptismal certificate) with parish seal received from the parish of Baptism (for Baptized non-Catholics, a copy is sufficient)
Two Months before wedding: LaSalle Country marriage license acquired at County Courthouse
One Month before wedding:Couple walk through liturgy and music approved: during the liturgy, it must be Liturgical Music; prelude & postlude may be of other type but must be appropriate (determined by the priest or deacon celebrant) Rental agreement signed and returned
Weddings may be Monday – Saturday; NO Sunday weddings
Wedding start times: weddings are typically held at 1pm on Saturdays (A different day / time may be arranged by speaking with the pastor.)
At rehearsal: Wedding license must be already on file at the parish office or brought to the rehearsal (no license, no rehearsal!)
Day of wedding: The Wedding Mass will begin punctually at the scheduled time. It is recommended that pictures are taken before the ceremony. The Church must be clear, all decorations removed, etc. by 2:30pm (to allow for afternoon confessions and Mass).
